Ever since my oldest son, Scott joined the youth group at our church, I have been involved in some way shape or form with the group.
Last spring, the youth pastor that we had announced that he and his wife were moving. They had approached Bobby and I about stepping up and taking over once they left. During our prayer time in the months before, God was preparing us for this step. We both knew that this was coming even though the youth pastor had said nothing about it to us beforehand.
After much thought and prayer and discussion with the pastor of the church, we accepted the task of becoming the new youth leaders at the church.
We are now approaching a year since this happened. I have seen great things happen with our group. We have a great group of teenagers.
I decided to make the youth ministry a part of our blog because it is such a big part of our life. You learn it is more than planning lessons and events. It's about investing your time into their lives.
I hope to share a little bit about our experiences in this blog.
